• Candidate for Mayor of Oakland 2022
• Member of the California Democratic Party delegation to the Democratic National Convention 2020.
• Former Commissioner on the Oakland Public Library Advisory Commission- Appointed by then Mayor of Oakland Libby Schaaf in 2018. Completed one term which ended in 2021.
• Former steward for SEIU (Service Employees International Union) Local 100 DLC 743, representing public sector employees.
• Served as Vice President on the board of directors of community farm, City Slickers Farms Inc. based in West Oakland.
• Volunteer for Lake Merritt Breakfast Club Necklace of Lights, Painting & Cleaning Project. Weekly meeting of volunteers who maintain the jewel of Oakland, Lake Merritt, by painting over graffiti, picking up trash, polishing bronze lamp post name plates. In addition to various projects related to Children’s Fairyland.
• Serve on the Board of Directors of the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park based in Fruitville.

Tyron believes strong in serving his community and improving the quality of life for those in his community.  Tyron believes that the sole objective of a an elected official- is to use every power in his/her disposal to works towards a safe community, conducive for individuals for families and businesses, particular small businesses to thrive.  He wants a Oakland to thrive and to become the world class city status which it richly deserves.
